This is my second Blackstrap hood and I love it. I wear a 7 1/4 hat and it fits well. For me, the best feature is the hinged piece that goes around your jaw/mouth. You can raise or lower it from your mouth without messing up the fit on your head. Will definitely buy again.

This hood is great. I just used it on a skiing trip to Utah where it snowed almost everyday and this hood has been fantastic. Kept me nice and warm for most of the day. At the end of the day it did get a little wet in front of the mouth area from breathing through it all day. But other than that buy this!

This expedition fits tighter than the regular BS balaclava. The stitching quality is poor on the inside. Poor quality control. Stitching should be tight and no loose threads. There were many loose threads and not stitched equally on the inside at the hinge. The most critical area, might hold up, not sure. Will return this expedition balaclava. Keeping the regular BS balaclava, that one had loose threads on the inside as well.

The soft-hinged nose cover actually stays up over my nose! Excellent! No poking around needed to stay covered. This is the heavier expedition weight head piece…not bulky, but plenty warm.

Wow, so comfortable and warm. Great for storm riding. I’ve had it down to 10 F and works great. Would probably get a little hot at temps near 32 F.Went from a regular fleece neck gaiter to this and I will never go back.

I have several of these. Great for snow sports. It’s like having an additional layer and makes a big difference on keeping you warm without bulk. I highly recommend them.
