I’ve taken this hydration system hiking twice so far, this system works, the good and the bad about this system. I love the way this system buckles across the chest and waist and I love that it has pockets for small amounts of gear. The material seems durable so far. This system is great for those who are packing extremely light, nothing more then identification or wallets and a couple protein bars or snacks. Here is what I didn’t like. The bladder is in the main compartment instead of it’s own compartment. There is not a very effective away to secure this system to another pack if you are picking more gear then just this hydration system. If you could detach the shoulder straps at the base of the hydration system then you could secure the hydration system a bit more effectively. Not all of this is entirely the systems fault. Some of it can fall to the design of my pack. Analyze what you are attaching it to.

After about 9 months of heavy use, i.e., probably close to 1000 miles of hiking and trail running, in wet and dry conditions, this has been my experience.First and foremost, this is a “cheap” hydration pack. If you didn’t expect that, you probably should have. With that said, it possesses the traits that are often plagued with cheap products. The (Multicam) color of the pack will bleed and change rather quickly and after a short time appears more of a reddish camo than the standard look.Internally, the thin plastic/nylon/vinyl or whatever the material lining the separated sections of the pack falls apart, this is especially noticeable after a thorough washing of the pack. For the most part, this doesn’t seem to terribly affect the performance or carrying capacity but it does look messy.Externally, it is fairly durable but I am finally seeing shredding at the seams in one area, which means it is only a matter of (short) time before I need to replace the entire thing. This may have been accelerated by regularly washing it in a front-load washer, but I haven’t experienced it with any other hydration packs.The bladder is thin and prone to punctures, my advice is that you do something like cover the entire bladder in duct tape or preferably, gorilla tape before using it in order to combat that issue. That’s what I did, and after 9 months the bladder remains leak-free.With all that said, it’s a decent pack that holds quite a bit, looks decent, and will get the job done…just not forever. If you want durability then prepare to spend double for roughly the same design and look, and look at something from Camelbak or Osprey. Otherwise, if you’re a “run it ’til it dies” kind of person who doesn’t want to break the bank and doesn’t mind replacing your gear periodically, this will work. At the roughly $30 I paid for this, I probably got my money’s worth out of it, it would have been nice to get more but I guess I have to be realistic.
