Built like tent rods now-a-days. Three pieces held together by an elastic cord and then they just snap together to make a much longer stick that you put into the ground with an additional hole maker they hive you. This makes storage easier during the warm months when they are out of the ground. Now whether that elastic cord will handle cold temperatures will have to be seen, but nothing some clear wrapping tape will not fix.

I really like the markers, I think they will work quite well. The “drill” that come with to assist in installing them is not really a drill bit, but a drive in stake that creates a hole quite a bit larger than the pole diameter. And, in hard (but not frozen) ground, I drove it into the ground with a hammer, and the pointed end broke off on the first stake and the top of the unit was damaged pretty badly hammering it in. Was able to make it last long enough to put in the ten stakes, but I don’t think it will hold up for next season. If you have to install these in harder ground I would recommend using a drill with a 12 inch or longer 1/8-1/4″ spade bit to drill your holes. Had these come with a 12=16″ long drill bit I would give them a 5 plus rating for their construction and the price of the package.
